The United Nations Water Conference (March 22-24, New York) is an opportunity to understand why feminist funding is key for real solutions to the climate crisis. Find out more about our participation.

Raquel Aveiro (coordinator of Fondo de Mujeres del Sur in Paraguay) and Bernarda Pesoa (activist and member of Mujeres de Santa Rosa de la Comunidad Qom) together with other colleagues from the Global Alliance for Green and Gender Action (GAGGA), will participate on the panel entitled Making finance for gender just water and climate solutions a reality! on Thursday, March 23 at 1pm EST.

This event is part of the programme organised in parallel to the United Nations Water Conference and will, in turn, conclude the Women are Water campaign. The campaign has been run by the GAGGA alliance for more than five years to promote community and gender just climate solutions as well as to influence resource development for them.

The Conference

The United Nations Water Conference brings together governments, civil society, activists and other stakeholders from around the world to make shared commitments aimed at guaranteeing access to potable water, sanitation and mitigating the climate crisis.

At this year’s conference, FMS and GAGGA insist on focusing on initiatives led by women environmental defenders who protect and restore ecosystems to preserve water. Find out more about women in the Global South that strive to achieve just, inclusive and sustainable solutions.
