The Fondo de Mujeres del Sur is administered by a Board of Directors and an Executive Team. The Board of Directors is made up of feminists recognized for their work in the struggle for women’s rights in the region. The Board defines FMS’s political lines of action and the overall focus of its mission, as well as overseeing the general administration of the Fund.

Executive Team

The Executive Team is made up of professionals from diverse fields.

Executive Director:

Luz Aquilante has a Degree in International Relations at the Catholic University of Cordoba Argentina, Master in Decentralized International Cooperation at the University of the Basque Country-Spain and postgraduate specialization in International Law, Human Rights and Gender Equality at the University Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona and at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She has more than 10 years of professional experience in the field of International Cooperation for Development in Civil Society Organizations (like OXFAM International), Private Sector - area of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Academia, International Organizations and local government. She has more than 7 years of experience in the United Nations System (UNIFEM/UN Women). She was Responsible for the monitoring and evaluation area of the Sub regional Office of UNIFEM/UN Women for Mexico, Central America, Cuba and the Dominican Republic (2007-2010); Coordinator of UN Women Argentina (2010 - 2014) and Moderator of the Civil Society Advisory Group of UN Women for Latin America and the Caribbean (2015-2016). She was a specialist member on gender and human rights at the Institute of Education, Training and Research for Women (IFCIM, for its acronym in Spanish) of the Provincial Council of Women, Government of Cordoba, Argentina (2014-2016). Since April 2016 she is the Executive Director of the Women’s Fund from the South (FMS) for Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay. Previously she was the management Coordinator of the FMS for a period of ten months. Her main areas of competence are Human Rights-Based Approach (HRBA), Results-based Management (RBM), Logical Framework Approach, Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E), Multiculturalism and Ethnic Diversity, Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment, Sexual and Reproductive Rights, Migration and Trafficking, Youth and Children, Local Development, Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), Sustainable Development Agenda 2030 (SDGs), Economic care, Violence against Women (VAW) and Poverty Eradication. She has a broad experience in several countries, such as South Africa, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Central America and Argentina and experience on Research and Evaluation as independent consultant.

She is graduated as a teacher from the Instituto Superior Dr. Alejandro Carbó, Córdoba, Argentina. She has more than 15 years of experience in the accounting and administrative area of private companies and nonprofit organizations. She is in charge of the administration of the Fondo de Mujeres del Sur, working on the general management of the FMS and on the administrative follow up of the organizations that the FMS supports. She is in charge of elaborating budgets and financial reports to local and international donors. She has received specialized training in management of nonprofit organizations. Rosa is the legally authorized representative of the Fondo de Mujeres del Sur together with the Executive Director. She is part of the team since 2008, year in which the FMS was born; therefore, Rosa is currently the member of the executive team that has worked for longer in the Foundation. She is the more experienced staff regarding the management of the institution.

He is a lawyer graduated from the National University of Córdoba, Argentina. He has a Master Degree in Social Sciences, with mention on Social Politics and Diploma on Quality Management and Analysis Tools by the Faculty of Science from the National University of Cordoba. He has knowledge of French and Portuguese. During seven years, he was the Management Supervisor of an important private telecommunication company. As the Legal Administrative and Legal Officer, Ivan has contributed to consolidate the banking mechanisms necessary to receive individuals donations by credit and debit cards, this was possible due to achieve the agreements with those companies . Currently the FMS has agreements with six credits and debit cards. Ivan is in charge of the monthly liquidations and manages the payments of the individual donors in the organization´s bank accounts from the beginning of the FMS´s local resource mobilization strategy through Direct Dialogue Campaigns. He joined the Foundation in 2012.

Raquel has a Master in Human Rights by the University "Carlos III de Madrid", has a Diploma on Gender and Public Policies for FLACSO Argentina, is a specialist with Phd in Didactics, and is a public accountant by the "Universidad Nacional de Asunción". She has worked for the project "Proyecto de Igualdad de Oportunidades para las Mujeres en la Educación de la Secretaría de la Mujer y el Ministerio de Educación y Cultura" from Paraguay. At the same time, she has also work for social civil organizations as Amnisty International and the project of the "Instituto Bartolomé de las Casas de la Universidad Carlos III de Madrid".  For over 15 years she has collaborated with a variety of projects with the International Cooperation. In the FMS, she is the coordinator and manager of the administration and local resources of FMS Paraguay. She speaks spanish and guaraní, and has knowledge of english and portuguese.

Virginia was born in Mendoza. She graduated in Political Science from "Universidad Católica de Córdoba" and speaks spanish, english and portuguese. Virginia has worked on grassroots organizations in Córdoba. She is interested in social movements, poberty and social policies. Virgina joined the executive team in 2012. Currently, she is the responsable of the program Strenghtening Women's Defense of Environmental Rights in the American Chaco Region.

Paula Leiva graduated recently with honors as a Social Worker from the “Universidad Nacional de Córdoba”. With an early interest in Human Rights, she held an internship in the Ministry of Human Rights of the province, in Tierra del Fuego, and participated in Córdoba as a workshop facilitator in an academic extension project oriented to the education of female inmates and university students on critical criminology with a gender and human rights focus.
She started working in the Fondo de Mujeres del Sur in 2015 as a program assistant, participating at the same time in different courses -such as postgraduate training in environmental policies and rights; workshops on the implementation of tools for the registry of social projects; course on communication plans and strategies, among others - in order to improve her performance in the areas needed in the institution. She has proven to keep up constant learning and improvement to fulfill at her best capacity the spaces in which she works.

Natalia Eberbach holds a law degree from the National University of Córdoba. After finishing her studies, she began her PhD work at the Catholic University of Cordoba, focusing on political management with a concentration in public policies. She has substantial professional experience in both the public and private sectors. In 2008, she served as legal assistant in the Justice Secretariat within the Ministry of Justice of the Province of Cordoba. In 2014, she became an attorney for the Citizen Empowerment and Participatory Public Policy Design Program of the municipality of Unquillo. In addition, she was a litigation attorney for a prominent law firm in the city of Cordoba.
In 2012, she joined Fondo de Mujeres del Sur team, where she has been the Programs Officer for the program Networks and Parterships. Natalia has lead the creation of the local resource mobilization strategy through Direct Dialogue Campaigns and has contributed to build and maintain an ongoing relationship with individuals donors and allies through diverse loyalty strategies implemented with creativity and enthusiasm. Currently she works as the Coordinator of Local Resource Mobilization of the Women’s Fund from the South.
